Powerstar 'Highly Commended' at Business Awards
Rotherham based company EMSc (UK) Limited, developer of the innovative Powerstar voltage optimisation system, has received two ‘highly commended’ accolades at the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
EMS was awarded the ‘highly commended’ accolade in the ‘Innovation in Business’ and 'Excellence in Manufacturing' categories at the awards.
The ‘Innovation in Business’ award recognises businesses that have developed an innovation, product or process by analysing market factors, as well as supply and demand, resulting in the successful implementation of the innovation.
The ‘Excellence in Manufacturing’ award recognises businesses that can demonstrate all-round excellence and continuous improvement in their manufacturing operation.
Dr Alex Mardapittas, Managing Director at EMSc (UK) Ltd, commented, “We are extremely pleased to be presented with the highly commended award in these two of the categories at the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce Business 2010 awards. We feel these two awards show our expertise in the fields of innovation and manufacturing. In the last year, we have added 8,000 sq feet in our manufacturing premises and the Powerstar has been exported to countries such as Australia, South Africa, Greece, Cyprus, Sweden and United Arab Emirates. This shows that Rotherham manufacturing companies can manufacture the highest quality products which can compete worldwide, something we are extremely proud off. ”
The event, which took place on Friday 22nd October at the Magna Centre in Rotherham, recognised businesses in the Barnsley and Rotherham areas which, through outstanding vision and leadership, achieved significant and sustained growth or development. More than 400 people attended the event, which was compéred by TV presenter Harry Gration.
